Computer Renderings

Computers have recently become a very powerful lighting design tool at Yarnell Associates. Besides allowing us to determine light levels within a space and therefore allow us to compare different systems and select the most appropriate system, using physically based state of the art lighting software, we can very accurately predict what the final composition will be for virtually any design.

Chouteau & Municipal

In the case of the Chouteau & Municipal building, the computer renderings allowed us to explore the use of color, allowed us to test specialized beam distributions on the front facade, as well as give us an overall feel to the design which we could then present to the client.

 Renderings

Columbia Public Library

At the Columbia Public Library, daylighting calculations, daylight renderings, false color images showing light levels, computer animations showing the path of the sun within the space, as well as a physical model were part of a rather extensive daylight analysis that was used in order to achieve a successful daylight solution.

St. John Medical Center

The renderings for the St. John Medical Center were done as a way to visually evaluate the effectiveness of the fixtures selected as well as to test the proposed mounting configuration.

The two conceptual images simply illustrate one of the steps in our design process.
